The journey toward licensure can be difficult. I am open, compassionate, understanding, and flexible. Supervision isn’t therapy, however, there needs to be a connection as well as a feeling of trust and understanding. We need to know that our supervisor is reliable and knowledgeable about the specialty and clientele that we are woking with.

You got into this field for a reason, I want to remind you of that reason. I will provide you with support and a space to address any difficulties you may be experiencing within the field as you pursue licensure.

I meet with my supervises on a weekly, or bi-weekly basis, depending on your needs and licensure needs. When we first meet, we will discuss your needs, licensure needs, and how you would like to utilize our time together. As we meet, we will review these topics regularly. . 

I don’t know everything, and I will tell you if I am unsure of something. When this happens, I will do my best to find you an answer wherever possible via my own consultation that I participate in. There is also no right way to do things, and I will provide guidance using my own thoughts and experience with similar situations, the best way I can support you is to help you feel confident in our work, and help you to find your own voice.

Consultation is a peer-to-peer support to obtain perspective, and allow for reflection/validation. I have found that I am able to continue to grow professionally because of my own use of weekly consultation sessions. Because of this experience, I want to provide this space for you.

I meet with my consultees on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis for an hour each meeting. You can bring in any questions or difficulties you may have, and we will make space for them during your time. If you would like something more structured, you are welcome to bring in a specific case or two and identify them as ones you would like follow-up with when we meet. If you would like to create a consultation group, we can discuss that option as well. 

I have about a decade of experience in direct psychotherapy, case management, and crisis work. I have over 8 years of training, and management experience within the field. I have worked in private practice, IOP, and crisis center settings. Throughout this time, I have worked with direct service staff providing assistance to people seeking solutions to their struggles.

I am a passionate therapist. I have been training practicum students and supporting fellow associates since I stepped fully into the role as a therapist. I was asked multiple times if I planned to become a supervisor or a professor, and I’ve always wanted to be able to support those entering the field after me. Creating a space where therapists are able to delve deeper into their knowledge, and be provided with a “cone of silence” where we can discuss the difficulties of being in the field and the beginning stages/struggles. I strongly believe in providing support and care to future therapists.

Supervision/consultation is provided via HIPAA compliant Telehealth platform, unless you would like to meet in person local to San Diego county.
