Hi, my name is Jenée Harris (she/her). I’m an LMFT and a Certified EMDR Therapist™. I provide telehealth therapy in California to clients 18 years and older. I have specialized training as well as both personal and professional experience with supporting first responders and military personnel. I work with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, co-occurring/dual diagnosis, chemical dependency, perinatal mental health, and trauma/complex trauma. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where you feel heard, understood, are able to express your authentic self, and are able to take time to process your experiences. My hope is to assist you in identifying your values while helping you to move toward them in the midst of your personal experiences.
I am trained in multiple evidence-based therapeutic approaches, which include:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I)
Exposure Response Therapy (ERP)
Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)
Trauma Informed Care
It would be an honor to be with you during this part of your mental health journey towards a balanced and value driven life.
My passion is in cultivating a safe and accepting therapeutic space to provide high-quality services with thoughtfulness, empathy, and understanding. My hope is that you are able to verbalize your experiences as they are, without invaliding your responses, judging yourself, or participating in comparative suffering. This mission is rooted in the belief that your experiences are valid, and you can live a life worth living.
"Hope is what makes us strong. It is why we are here. It is what we fight with when all else is lost" - Pandora
The Haiku on most of the pages within my site was adapted from the game Ghost of Tsushima's Haiku's on Strife & Serenity. When I was studying for the licensure exam, I was also watching my husband play the game. Each time a reflection came up, I would pause and help to choose the lines.
As a therapist I know that as humans, we experience a variety of emotions, including some that are heavier. These emotions are not for forever. They are very much so like the mist that will clear, making way for the warmth ahead. My hope with therapy is to assist my clients to walk through the mist and live a life worth living based upon their values in the midst of their private experiences.
While I was reflecting on what I want to provide my clients with opening my practice, I remembered the beautiful moments within Ghost of Tsushima. The moments of reflection and peace throughout the game reminded me of the moments I hope to provide my clients. Through the Mist Therapy was born from this idea.
